Silver bandaids and gels containing silver, long used on wounds and burns in some hospitals, are now available for home use.
Curad Silver Solution, a wound gel, was shown by an independent lab to kill all MRSA in 24 hours, says maker Medline Industries Inc.
Antimicrobial silver products are considered effective against Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Epidermis (MRSE) and Vancomycin Resistant Enterococci (VRE).
