MRSA has been found to live in steambaths; both in the inside seating area and outside bench areas. Cleaning the seating areas with a dilute bleach solution after use appears to be most effective way to disinfect steambaths. Also, a barrier to prevent direct contact with the seat (such as cardboard) may be a way to prevent spread of MRSA in the steambath.
